The City of Adelaide (CoA) sought to improve traffic safety and efficiency along Currie Street, a vital CBD corridor with heavy vehicle and pedestrian activity.
As part of the Network Planning Studies Program, led by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT), over 30 transport planning studies are being conducted across metropolitan Adelaide. This program focuses on exploring future upgrades for key arterial roads, intersections, corridors, greenways, and public transport infrastructure to improve traffic efficiency and connectivity. BE Engineering Solutions (BEES) was engaged by Arup, a key Integrated Planning Partner, to perform SIDRA modelling analysis for selected road corridors, including Goodwood Road, Main North Road, and The Parade. The project evaluated the performance impacts of proposed schemes at 18 critical intersections under current and projected future demands.
