The South Australian Government invested $32.9 million to upgrade an 800-meter section of Flagstaff Road between Hyland Avenue and Bonneyview Road in Flagstaff Hill. This vital infrastructure project aimed to improve road safety, traffic flow, and overall usability. As part of this initiative, Aurecon Australasia Pty Ltd engaged BE Engineering Solutions (BEES) to perform a Preliminary Design Road Safety Audit (RSA) and a Post-Construction day and night RSA and assessment for this critical section of Flagstaff Road.

The Challenge

The Flagstaff Road upgrade presented specific challenges that required expert road safety evaluation:

Ensuring the preliminary design incorporated all necessary safety measures to address known hazards.
Conducting a thorough safety audit to identify potential risks for road users during both day and night conditions.
